Japanese beer rounded out the meal. We watched the NFL first round playoff game. We were cruise ship explorers. ”

“ Made this our first stop after landing. 11am on a Saturday and they were empty, which wasn't surprising. Started with a mai tai ....cause vacation. It looked weird, but was tasty. Ordered the rib eye pupu, the pulled pork (aka Hawaiian BBQ) plate, a California roll, a rainbow roll, and a Kula roll. Everything was delicious. My son even ate the cabbage with the rib eye!! I would say that the spicy tuna in the Kula roll wasn't spicy. And I would have liked to have seen more fish on the rainbow roll, which would have also made it look like a rainbow. But still delicious. ”

I loved the Sunkist and Power specialty roll as well as the Hamachi carpaccio. The owners were so kind and friendly, taking care of us all night. “ First time here and I'm so happy we gave this place a try! It's located in the Akaku Center in Kahului. There is plenty of parking available. We came at 6:30 pm on a Thursday and there was no wait for a table. This is a quaint restaurant and bar. It can accommodate fairly large parties. There is only one server but she is awesome! She took our order right away and our food came quickly. She checked in with us and asked how our food was. There are lots of choices on the menu, including a full sushi menu and lots of Chinese food. We ordered off the specials menu and got the orange beef and spicy squid. Rice doesn't come with the dishes so you have to order it separately. The orange beef was perfectly crispy with a sweet, tangy sauce. There were peppers hidden throughout the dish so be careful you don't bite into them. We ordered the spicy squid with a level 1 spicy and it was too hot. Mild spicy would have been just right. The squid was really flavorful! The portions are big and the prices are reasonable. You would never know it from their name, but they have some of the best Chinese food on Maui! We'll definitely be back to try the sushi next. ”
